On the Magnetization of a Charged Bose Gas in the Canonical Ensemble
نویسندگان
چکیده
Consider a charged Bose gas without self-interactions, confined in a three dimensional cubic box of side L ≥ 1 and subjected to a constant magnetic field B 6= 0. If the bulk density of particles ρ and the temperature T are fixed, then define the canonical magnetization as the partial derivative with respect to B of the reduced free energy. Our main result is that it admits thermodynamic limit for all strictly positive ρ, T and B. It is also proven that the canonical and grand canonical magnetizations (the last one at fixed average density) are equal up to the surface order corrections.

Canonical thermostatics of ideal gas in the frame work of generalized uncertainty principle
The statistical consequences of minimal length supposition are investigated for a canonical ensemble of ideal gas. These effects are encoded in the so-called Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP) of the second order. In the frame work of the considered GUP scenario, a unique partition function is obtained by using of two different methods of quantum and classical approaches. It should be noti...
متن کاملBose-Einstein condensation, fluctuations, and recurrence relations in statistical mechanics
We calculate certain features of Bose–Einstein condensation in the ideal gas by using recurrence relations for the partition function. The grand canonical ensemble gives inaccurate results for certain properties of the condensate that are accurately provided by the canonical ensemble. Calculations in the latter can be made tractable for finite systems by means of the recurrence relations. The i...
متن کاملFluctuation in an interacting trapped gas in one and two dimensions
It is well-known that the number fluctuation in the grand canonical ensemble, which is directly proportional to the compressibility, diverges for an ideal bose gas as T → 0. We show that this divergence is removed when the atoms interact in one dimension through an inverse square two-body interaction. In two dimensions, similar results are obtained using a self-consistent ThomasFermi (TF) model...
متن کاملInteracting Bose gas on the Lattice
A Lower bound for the density of a Bose gas in Z in the grand canonical ensemble is calculated for general dimension d, and for l(Z) potential interactions. The rigorous formalism of the measure on continuous time random walks, analogous to the Wiener measure, is briefly explained, along with justification of the Feynman-Kac formula using this. These are then used to bound the density, although...
متن کاملThermodynamic equivalence of certain ideal Bose and Fermi gases
It has been established recently that there is an interesting thermodynamic ‘‘equivalence’’ between noninteracting Bose and spinless Fermi gases in two dimensions, and between onedimensional Bose and Fermi systems with linear dispersion, both in the grand-canonical ensemble. These are known to be special cases of a larger class of equivalences of noninteracting systems having an energy-independ...
